* Q! |; [$ M* s# p% q6 sWater & Oil Repellent finish is not anything new in the market. But for the old Teflon, ironing is required after laundry to restore its repellent function. So that, DuPont launches out a new chemical that will keep its function well even after home laundry. Therefore, it is so-called Laundry Air Dry (LAD). Same as the old product, this fluorochemical which is padded & cured on the fabric forms an invisible barrier around fibers enabling them to repel water, oil and stains. It will not block the air holes of the fabric and retains breathability.

Its application on the fabric is quite simple. We can apply them by padding method in the latest stage of processing. However, some softeners are not compatible with this chemical, so that, we need to select suitable softener & adjust its amount carefully in order not to impair its performance. As a result, fabric treated with this chemical will be a little bit harsh. Color approval before applying this chemical is highly recommended as it will cause slightly color change. No re-dye can be done. For the matching trimming, open-width trimming can be applicable. Technically, we can’t offer collar & cuff with this treatment.

Quality control test required by DuPont must be carried out to measure the effectiveness. Hang-tags can be ordered if all their requirements are fulfilled. Water Drop Test & Oil Repellent Test (DuPont method) should be conducted before & after 5 washes to guarantee its durability. Definitely, clients can set-up their own specifications if needed.

It is also an invisible fluorochemical barrier finish applying around fibers to improve the cleanability of apparel without affecting the absorbency. This special chemical ensures the removal of stubborn stains by usual household laundry. In case of ordinary soiling, the washing temperature & cycle can be reduced.
